Outreach Committee |
The Outreach Ministry is supported by Special Benevolence Sundays. On the first Sunday of March, June, September and December, 25% of the offering is designated for benevolence. The 2008 amount was $3294.50. The committee uses these funds for charities that are offering services to those in need. An Outreach Calendar was created by the Council, which the Outreach Committee oversees. Any requests for giving will be on this calendar, and will be approved by Council. This year, your benevolence offerings have supported the following: Luther Heights $500 Valley House $300 Neighbors In Need $300 Salvation Army $300 Lutheran World Relief $500 Heifer Project Int’l. $300 Smile Train $250 Jon Francis Scholarship Fund $250 PLU Scholarship Savings Account $500 Additional Donations: Souper Bowl offering in January 2008 to NIN. We are extremely pleased to be members of such a generous and caring congregation. Please know how much your support is appreciated. We receive many thanks and great stories of how the donations have helped others. The members of this committee are Karen Fjeld, Marge Mayer, Phyllis Mattlin, Alice Raidiger and Katie Sipe.
